Al-Qaeda-linked jihadists, the Malian army and its Russian allies have all committed "grave abuses" against civilians during and after the April attacks that rocked the West African country, Human Rights Watch said in a report on Monday.

In an interview with FRANCE 24, Rwandan Foreign Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe said his country is "disappointed by the increasingly biased US mediation" in the conflict with DR Congo. He also accused the US of sanctioning Kigali alone while Kinshasa fails to honour the 2025 Washington Accords between the two countries.

He warned that "no one is safe" if it is not stopped at the source and argued that the West would already have a vaccine if the disease had struck there.

NGOs are accusing the European Union of being "complicit in horrific violations and abuses in Libya". Amnesty International in particular says the EU is effectively cooperating with what it calls a xenophobic and racist country. The accusation comes as Europe has moved to bolster efforts to stem migration and introduced the European Union Pact on Migration and Asylum, overhauling how the bloc manages its borders. In Tunisia, inflation topped 5 percent last month, driven by a significant rise in food prices. One cause is supply chain issues and middlemen hiking prices. The crisis is exacerbated by continuing high unemployment rates, especially in marginalized regions far from the capital and the coast. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's Prosperity Party won a landslide victory in legislative polls, giving it almost 90 percent of the seats. According to the United Nations, more than 1,000 civilians have been killed in drone strikes in Sudan since the beginning of the year. There has been a sharp increase in the use of drone warfare – a tactic marking a turning point in the three-year-war, which has created what the UN deems the "world's worst humanitarian crisis."
