Chad declares state of emergency after deadly Boko Haram attacks

Chad has declared a 20-day state of emergency in the Lake Chad region following a wave of deadly Boko Haram attacks that killed dozens of soldiers, including senior military officers. The government has also announced three days of national mourning as security tensions continue to rise in the conflict-affected border area.
