Following the declaration of an Ebola outbreak in the DRC’s Ituri Province on May 15, confirmed cases in Uganda have raised concerns about regional transmission. Containment efforts face severe obstacles, including conflict, misinformation, and weak healthcare infrastructure. With the outbreak now designated a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), countries in Africa are racing against time to halt further spread.
